Welcome to the Oliver and District Heritage Society!

We are a society committed to the preservation, conservation and promotion of the history, heritage and culture of the Greater Oliver Area in the Southern Okanagan Valley, British Columbia.

Nestled at the northern tip of the Sonoran Desert System, Oliver is a community that boasts some unique and exciting history, including an irrigation system once considered the largest active system in the world. The diverse ecology of the area, coupled with a history that includes gold prospecting, orcharding and the development of Oliver as the Wine Capital of Canada is featured in our displays and in our collections.

Come visit the museum and archives, or take a tour of our late Edwardian and early Modern architecture, including the rare and delightful South Okanagan Secondary School, built as one of the finest examples of Streamline Moderne style in Canada.

Visit the links at the left to plan your visit, or to contact the museum and archives for specific information for research you are pursuing.

This site is still under construction, but will be updated as possible.

Enjoy, and please come back often!
